LIFE ABROAD LESSONS

Life abroad is one of the strangest and most profound experiences you can go through. It’s full of lessons and perhaps the very first and most important one is the lesson of loneliness.
Many of us see loneliness as something negative or even as a punishment. But in reality, it can be a gift if we learn how to use it well.
Loneliness at the Beginning of Life Abroad
When you move to a new country, you often find yourself alone at first. You haven’t made friends yet, and you’re not integrated into the new society.
At this moment, life gives you time just for yourself time to listen to your inner voice, to organize your thoughts, to set your boundaries, and to see which values you want to keep and which beliefs you need to leave behind.
Your True Strength Shows Here
Loneliness gives you the chance to meet the new version of yourself the one that was born in this new place. You might feel homesick or even lost at first, but if you use this time wisely, you’ll come out stronger and more self-aware.
From Personal Experience
When I first came to Germany, I was 23 years old, newly married, and in a country completely new to me. Everything felt cold the food, the wateer, the people, the traditions, the society, and even the weather. Without realizing it, I learned that I had to be strong as if I were in a forest and had to live by its rules. After 15 years, I understood that this strength was a gift, and that loneliness was a big part of it. Now, I don’t just accept my solitude… I enjoy it.
Conclusion
Loneliness isn’t always something to fear… sometimes it’s the path to discovering your true self.
Take this time seriously and use it to reorganize your life from the ground up.
